The custom engraving for these achievement awards can take two forms:
1) a 2D image engraved either on the surface of the award, or, alternatively, engraved inside the body of the award; or
2) a 3D image engraved inside the body of the award. The process to engrave the image inside the crystal is usually referred to as “sub-surface engraving”
The engraved image can take virtually any form: an organizational logo or icon, an organic figure, a geometric design, or any other shape that captures the intent of the customization. A single image can be used, or, alternatively, a number of images can be combined to create a unique and striking effect. A great example of engraving multiple images within the crystal can be seen in the award we created for the New York AIR Society, which supports National Jewish Health. The crystal contains a variety of balloons (one of their organizational icons) – in different shapes and sizes – engraved within the crystal.
